Abstract

ABSTRACTA brief review is given of recent research in the United Kingdom in the field of physical methods applied to fingerprint problems. Some work on the mechanics of powder adhesion to fingerprints is reported along with new results on the physical properties of fingerprints. The development of fingerprints by the use of metal vapour under vacuum is discussed. This method has been used for the successful development of scene of crime fingerprints on polythene.
