Abstract
The prevention of drowning among divers depends upon their physical and mental fitness because an underwater emergency may occur at any time and the lives of the diver and others may depend on their ability to respond fully. Drowning during or after a dive may also be a consequence of a number of factors related to medical and mental fitness. Assessment of fitness to dive should be performed by appropriately trained doctors and reassessment in intervals depending onthe age of the diver are strongly recommended
