Abstract

The heterogeneous condition known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is marked by persistent airflow restriction, excessive mucus secretion, chronic expectorant cough, and shortness of breath. Multiple phenotypes and multisystemic illness are other characteristics of COPD, which is also accompanied by a progressive increase in morbidity and mortality [1].
