Abstract

Neuromorphic Circuit Design In article number 2200070, R. Stanley Williams and co-workers present SONOS three-terminal synaptic circuit element, known as Flash memory, which is compact-modeled for neuromorphic applications, mimicking a brain. Similar to most two-terminal non-volatile memories such as RRAMs presenting memristors, the compact model of three-terminal non-volatile memory reveals the memristor on the third terminal. The physical compact model opens up opportunities at the intersection of the manufacturable non-volatile memory and the artificial brain.
