Abstract

The article deals with the physical and mechanical aspects of the transportation of raw cotton in a pneumatic transport system. During transportation the raw cotton collides with the working surfaces of the outlets of the pipelines and the front body of the separator at various angles. A theoretical analysis of the influence of the angle of impact on the degree of damage to raw cotton in the pneumatic transport system was performed. Based on the constructed model of physical and mechanical interaction and the use of an experimental setup an increase in the speed of pneumatic transport of raw cotton, an increase in seed damage, a deterioration in the quality of cotton fibers, and a decrease in their germination during the preparation of raw cotton were studied.
