Abstract

As an ecological material, Grass-planting concrete has been increasingly used in constructing bank revetment of the rivers, and the studies on the physical and mechanical properties of the concrete is key for more efficient application. This paper describes the physical and mechanical properties of the concrete through analyzing the relationship among cementitious materials, dry bulk density, compressive strength and porosity. The results indicated the grass-planting concrete could meet the requirements for the strength and plant growth of ecological bank protection of small and medium-sized rivers when the total amount of cementitious materials was greater than 526 kg/m3 or the dry bulk density was greater than 1700 kg/m3. There is a negative correlation between the compressive strength and the porosity. This work provides excellent technical support for the popularization and application of grass-planting concrete.
