Abstract
SUMMARYComparative study, under standard conditions of growth in a variety of media, of 2 unicellular chlorophycean algae living in soil, both of which produce spherical and saccate cells in their development, has resulted in the description of 2 new taxa, Ascochloris multinucleata gen. et sp. nov., Chlorococcaceae, Chlorococcales, and Ignatius tetrasporus gen. et sp. nov. of the Chlorosarcinaceae, Chlorosarcinales.
