Abstract

Phthalate esters are the most commonly used plasticizers worldwide which are additionally used as solvents and fixatives in fragrances and additives in cosmetics and personal care products. Phthalates are classified as endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and their presence in the human body has been linked to health diseases and disorders in fetuses, infants, children, and adults.
