Abstract

According to the statistic data about 20% of infertile patients require the use of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) in Ukraine. The government finances a state program of ART. In 2016 there are 5 state centers and 39 private clinics for ART. We analyzed the cost for ART according to data from private centers in Ukraine that have official websites on the Internet. We calculated the average cost per cycle of IVF and ICSI. We calculated the solvency adequacy ratio according to the cost per cycles and the average salary in Ukraine. It was established that 7 (18%) clinics do not have the official website, 7 clinics have an official website, but do not provide information on the prices of servicecost. There are 12 clinics provide information about the cost of services, not taking into account the use of medicines in ART protocols. The average cost per 1 cycle of IVF was 52 584 UAH ( 1 USA= 28,20 UAH on 10.01.2018), for 1 cycle ICSI was 6694 UAH.. We calculated the solvency adequacy ratio to determine the availability of ART for the population, This ratio is 703 and it’s quite high, which indicates the low availability of ART for couples . We have found that 18% of medical centers don’t have an official website that reduces access to information on ART in different regions of the country. The calculated solvency adequacy ratio is high, which indicates a low access to ART in Ukraine. It is advisable to unify the information that is provided on the websites of private ART centers, on the availability of cycles and the total cost on them to improve access for patients. The increasing of public funding and cost management could significantly improve the use of ART and the results for the demographic situation in Ukraine
