Abstract

Higher reaction temperature can induce the better solar catalytic hydrogen (H2) production performance on noble-metal loaded photocatalyst. Here, the thermal effect generated by the infrared light was used to enhance the solar catalytic hydrogen production from methanol-water solution. The light to hydrogen (LTH) conversion efficiency of Pt/TiO2 reached to 0.36% under full spectrum light source. The results indicated that infrared part of solar light can be utilized as thermal source to enhance the photocatalytic hydrogen generation.
