Abstract
Light-controlled cell-penetrating peptides are reviewed as emerging photopharmacology tools. Key discoveries made recently in this area demonstrated that photoregulation of the cell-penetrating ability is very efficient in structural contexts of (macro)heterocyclic peptidic molecules, containing azobenzene or diarylethene photoisomerizable moieties.
