Abstract

Photothermal spectra of undoped poly(3-butylthiophene) films were obtained using the photothermal spectroscopy technique in which a pyroelectric β-PVDF film was employed as a detector. The measurements were performed in the visible range for different chopping frequencies, and the data were analysed according to the model developed by Mandelis and Zver. The fitting of the experimental data to the model allowed us to obtain severals thermal parameters and also the optical gap of the material.
