Abstract
Cis and trans isomers have been identified in solutions of the dye DCM and the absolute absorption cross-sections have been measured for both. Fluorescent lifetimes and quantum yields for fluorescence have been measured as a function of solvent and the results demonstrate the unique nature of the photophysics in this system.
