Abstract

In the present paper we report photophysical properties of dansylamide in a few polymer matrices. The effect of polymer polarity, proticity and free volume has been studied by steady state and time resolved measurements. Large Stokes shifts in polar matrices indicate towards dominant charge transfer process. Besides, observed edge excitation red shift (EERS) and time resolved decay analysis points towards ground state heterogeneity in the polymeric media.
