Abstract
The present paper deals with a ruthenium(II) phthalocyanine, (tBu) 4PcRu(py) 2 where (tBu) 4Pc = tetra-(tert-butyl)-phthalocyanine and py = pyridine. Its photophysical properties are studied at room temperature by steady-state and time-resolved electronic absorption and emission spectroscopy. The most important finding is that (tBu) 4PcRu(py) 2 solutions show phosphorescence originating from a charge transfer state.
