Abstract

An optical microwave and millimeter-wave generation in a fiber optic communication link by heterodyning the output modes based on Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS). The link resides of a 1552.52 nm DFB Laser diode, Mach Zehnder modulator (MZM), 40 Km single mode fiber and Optical receiver. The receiver has a high power optical pump source, a data recovery unit and a Bandpass filter. Finally, we build a Radio over Fiber system through simulation, and the transmission performance of the generated optical MMW signal is presented.
