Abstract

Abstract Tunable multichannel filtering properties of a one-dimensional photonic crystal wedge constructed from two one-dimensional photonic crystals are demonstrated theoretically. Using the transfer matrix method, it is shown that the filtering properties, including the frequency and number of channels, can be tuned by adjusting the lateral position of the incident beam, the incident angle and the apex angle of the wedge. The angular response of the PC wedge filter is also analyzed.
