Abstract

Photon-gated spectral hole burning in mixed meso-phenyl-tetrabenzoporphyrinato-zinc as donor in which the inhomogeneous line width of mixture reaches 370 Å, with aromatic cyanide as acceptor in poly (methylmethacrylate) has been performed at 4.2 K. The hole filling induced by a gating beam was studied. The absorption of the gating beam by donor molecules leads to both broad-band bleaching of the S 1 ← S 0 inhomogeneous line before hole burning and hole filling after hole burning.
