Abstract

A non-equilibrium Green's function approach to collisional QED effects in a relativistic beam-plasma medium is presented. Taking into account off-shell parts of the electron correlation functions and vertex corrections to the self-energies, the Bremsstrahlung production rate is derived. The medium effects are included by the full dynamic structure factor of the bulk plasma. The ‘‘golden rule’’ result for the production rate with the Bethe-Heitler cross section is recovered for the model of static randomly distributed ions.
