Abstract

The photon energy dependence of the electron spectra of BF3 was studied. The resonant Auger spectrum was clearly observed when the quasi-discrete transition below the boron K ionisation energy was excited, while the normal Auger spectrum was observed in the case of excitation at the shape resonance above the ionisation energy. Both spectra were analysed in terms of the localised hole states. Enhancement of the valence photoelectron spectrum was found in the excitation at the quasi-discrete transition.
