Abstract

Two pulse photon echoes of β-carotene in ethanol solution have been investigated for various temperatures with incoherent laser light. The decay time of the echo intensity increases with decreasing temperature. The results are compared with a model calculation of the echo assuming a spectrum for the phonon density of states.
