Abstract

The aim of the present contribution is to characterize by photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) fullerene in solution. We investigate fullerene in solution with organic solvents such as toluene, chloroform and CCl 4, observing that the hydrodynamics radius R H, extracted by the Stokes–Einstein relation, has the same value for all the investigated solutions. For comparison Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS) findings on fullerene/CS 2 solutions are presented. By using a spherical model, we are able to obtain the R g 's value and to compare the new value with the theoretical and experimental values existing in literature. The result highlights an almost total independence of the gyration radius on concentration.
