Abstract
The cross sections for the production of K and L shell x-rays in some elements by monoenergetic photons have been measured and the experimental values were compared with the theoretical values. Also, the K shell x-ray production cross sections have been measured for thin targets of some elements by protons over the energy range 1.5–3.0 MeV. The ionisation cross sections were calculated and compared with Johansson's empirical formula.
