Abstract
The first nonlinear optical experiment using pyrargyrite (Ag 3SbS 3) is reported. 12 mW of cw TEM 00 1.06 μ pump power inside a crystal of Ag 3SbS 3 produced an NEP for 10.6 μ detection of 7.8×10 -7 W/Hz 1 2 , an order of magnitude improvement over the most recent 10.6 μ cw up-conversion experiment. An optically induced absorption was observed which could degrade the performance at higher pumping powers.
