Abstract

In the preceding chapters of this part an outline has been given of the theory of the Moon’s motion in space as well as about its own center of gravity. This motion affects, of course, vitally most observational manifestations of our satellite; and the most elementary aspect of these are the conditions of illumination of the Moon by the Sun and the Earth — i.e., the phases of the Moon — which we shall now proceed to describe.KeywordsSolar EclipseLunar EclipseTotal EclipsePartial EclipseLunar GlobeThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
