Abstract

The results of the investigation of light-induced properties in hematite crystals are presented. Main attention is focused on the kinetics of the photoinduced changes. It is shown that in α-Fe2O3 crystals containing both diamagnetic and 3d-ions, the relaxation has a diffusive nature, but doping by Eu ions causes properties attributed to a bistable system.
