Abstract

Surface morphology and photoluminescence (PL) properties of ZnO nanostructures grown by aqueous chemical growth (ACG) method on different ZnO thin films coated glass substrate were studied. The ZnO thin films used as seeded catalyst for ZnO nanostructures growth have been prepared at different molar concentration by sol-gel spin-coating method. It was found that properties of ZnO thin films at different molar concentrations influenced the morphology of ZnO nanostructures where different form of nanostructures grown on each ZnO thin films coated glass substrate. The PL characteristics of ZnO nanostructures showed the dependency on its morphology, crystallinity and stoichiometric which originally shaped by different crystallinity and electrical properties of ZnO thin films at different molar concentrations.
