Abstract

In the present work, barium phosphate glasses codoped with Dy3+–Eu3+ions are prepared and their photoluminescence properties are studied by the excitation and emission spectra. The dependence of emission spectra on the concentrations of Eu3+and Dy3+is discussed with respect to the energy transfer (ET) process from Dy3+to Eu3+ions and relevant ET mechanism was proposed.
