Abstract
We have investigated the 5d-4f interband and the intra-4f photoluminescence of Eu 3S 4. An anomalous shift of the interband luminescence can be explained by temperature dependent valence fluctuations. The ferromagnetic ordering of Eu 3S 4 is also verified.
