Abstract

The photoluminescence (PL) and radiation response properties of CeCl3-doped 2CsPO3-Al(PO3)3 were analyzed. Glasses doped with different concentrations of CeCl3 were prepared according to the conventional melt quenching method under a nitrogen atmosphere. Within the resolution limit of the XRD instrument, the XRD patterns showed a broad band without specific diffraction peaks, indicating the amorphous nature of the glasses. The PL and X-ray-excited radioluminescence spectra showed an ultraviolet fluorescence band at 350 nm due to the 5 d–4f allowed transition of Ce3+. The decay time and light yield were estimated to be about 20 ns and 530 photons/MeV, respectively.
