Abstract
In view of the recent interest in photoionisation of intermediate subshells of atoms a study of photoionisation of the 3p subshell of zinc has been taken up in the relativistic random phase approximation (RRPA). Cross sections, angular distribution asymmetry parameters and branching ratios of photoelectrons from the 3p subshell of zinc have been calculated. The cross section is seen to go through a Cooper minimum at about 4.75 au photon energy. The shape of the asymmetry parameter and the branching ratio confirm the existence of a Cooper minimum.
