Abstract
BaIrO 3 causes simultaneously charge-density wave and ferromagnetic phase transitions. The transient thermoelectric effect (TTE) has been investigated for this material. We have found that TTE signals are anisotropic on the 〈1 1 0〉, 〈1 0 1〉 and 〈0 0 1〉 axes, and that the magnitude of the TTE signals shows anomalies at the characteristic temperatures T c1 =26 K, T c2 =80 K and T c3 =175 K (T c3 : Curie temperature). A brief discussion is given on the nesting of the Fermi surface.
