Abstract
A Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film, in which proton donors and acceptors were arranged regularly in space, was assembled as a simple model of bacteriorhodopsin. With FT-IR and fluorescence spectroscopic data, it was confirmed that photoinduced intermolecular proton transfer proceeded in the film.
