Abstract
For virgin, illuminated and annealed GeS 2 films, the Ag photodoping, dissolution in a KOH solution and volume change have been examined to reveal the photo-and thermally-induced effects in mesoscopic scale (10–100 Å). The results can be explained by two ideas: (1) decrease of the structural disorder in atomic scale causes increase of the disorder in mesoscopic scale; (2) the mesoscale disorder remains for a long time at room temperature but reduces rapidly at the annealing temperature.
