Abstract
Abstract The [2+2] photocycloaddition between aryl vinyl ethers and alkyl vinyl ethers occurs upon irradiation of acetonitrile solutions in the presence of an electron acceptor such as 1,4-dicyanobenzene, giving predominantly cis head-to-head cycloadducts. The mechanistic features of this photoreaction are described.
