Abstract
In the study of body behavior, linguistics, semiology and photography can contribute to a new understanding of kinesics. The field of semiotics is part of linguistics because language is a dynamic process of the here and how. Photo elicitation can show both the dynamic and expressive aspect of language. Its method unravels individual semiotic constructions that can pose questions toward scientific theories. The roots for a scientific theory of individual semiotics can be found in the work of Roland Barthes and Edward Sapir.
