Abstract

Using immersion-deposition and photoreduction methods, high-purity Ag3PO4 and Ag nanoparticles were compounded on the surface of TiO2 nanowires. The cathodic protection effect of Ag/Ag3PO4/TiO2 nanocomposites on 304 stainless steel, as well as the morphology, composition, and optical absorption characteristics of the material were studied. When the number of impregnation-deposition cycles of Ag3PO4 was 6 and the concentration of AgNO3 in the photoreduction process was 0.1 M, the prepared Ag/Ag3PO4/TiO2 nanocomposites provided the best cathodic protection to 304 stainless steel. Relative to the saturated calomel electrode, the protection potential reached −900 mV, and the protection current reached 130 µA/cm2.
