Abstract

The investigation of the temperature dependence of the photoelectron emission current in a metal-solution system makes it possible to estimate (on the assumption that the work function in this system is independent of temperature) the change with temperature of the absolute potential of the reference electrode. For a normal hydrogen electrode this change is 0.5 mV K−1. The “true” temperature of coefficients of the potentials of reference electrodes and of P.Z.C.'s are given as recalculated from the literature data.
