Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, we have fabricated a hybrid nanostructure composed of multi‐walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) and CdSe QDs. Emission decay profile indicates a fast electron transfer of 1.6 ×108 s–1 from excited CdSe into the MWCNTs. More than 95% of the CdSe emission is quenched as the excited CdSe quantum dots interact with CNTs, indicating that the electron accepting property of MWCNT is expected to favor the electron transfer pathway. As a result, the MWCNTs‐CdSe can be used as the potential building blocks for light‐harvesting assembly in QDSSC. (© 2012 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
