Abstract
ABSTRACTA new digital holographic polariscope is developed for measuring isochromatic and isopachic fringe systems of stress-induced birefringent and non-birefringent materials. Our experimental results show that conventional circular polariscope could not record isopachic fringes for stress-induced non-birefringent material whereas the proposed digital holographic microscope clearly records such fringes. Detailed theoretical and experimental analysis is reported.
