Abstract

The main features of the electric-dipole-absorption cross section for light nuclei are clarified as a result of new experimental techniques in the study of the nuclear photoeffect. In general, this cross section is characterized by a broad maximum, designated as the giant resonance, located at an energy of 12 to 20 Mev depending on the nucleus under consideration. (R.E.U.)
