Abstract

To probe the potential utilities in the photocatalyst and optical materials, a series of CaWO4/NiO samples have been prepared via the co-precipitation preparation with different capping agents. The obtained CaWO4/NiO nanocomposite was characterized by UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDX) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) techniques. To examine the catalytic characteristics of the obtained CaWO4/NiO nanocomposite, the photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B dyes under ultraviolet illumination were performed. Recycling experiments that were also carried out proved the good stability of the survey samples. The combination of CaWO4/NiO nanocomposite is expected to become a new generation material for photodegradation with excellent performance.
