Abstract

The photoconductivity and dark conductivity of a system consisting of ZnCdS:Ag/Cd(S,Se):Cu mixed in various ratios have been studied in a sandwich-type configuration. The dark current shows sublinear, linear as well as supralinear dependence on voltage, whereas the photocurrent shows the effect of injection from the contacts even at the lowest voltages used. This may be attributed to the non-uniform illumination of the thick sample. The 20:80 sample of ZnCdS:Ag/Cd(S,Se):Cu mixed system shows the highest photosensitivity I P/ I D = 3.8×10 6 out of all the samples.
