Abstract

AbstractLead sulfide (PbS)/polystyrene (PS) nanocomposite (NCP) thin films have been synthesized from solution by in situ thermolysis. PbS nanocrystals (NCs) are of 3–5 nm size as determined from Transmission Electron Microscope. The films are p‐type with dark conductivity of ∼10−6 S cm−1 and high photoconductivity with linear current–voltage (I–V) characteristics. The electrical properties are explained on the basis of strong interaction between PbS and PS as revealed by infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). magnified image
