Abstract

The Bi-Sn-MOF(NH2) material was prepared by the solvothermal method, and the photocatalysts were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM, EIS and DRS. The degradation efficiency of Bi-Sn-MOF(NH2) material for new carmine (AR18) reached 99.9% after illumination of 40 min, which was 7.3% and 64.9% higher than that of Bi-MOF(NH2) and Bi-Sn-MOF, respectively. Bi-Sn-MOF(NH2) had good photocatalytic performance because the interaction between amino group and bimetal improves the electron-hole separation efficiency and carrier transport rate. The superoxide radical (·O2–) played a major role in the degradation of AR18. The photocatalytic mechanism of Bi-Sn-MOF(NH2) was proposed based on free radical determination and electrochemical tests.
