Abstract

In this research, the preparation and application of bauxite and Red Mud/graphitic carbon nitride composites were investigated. The FTIR, XRD, SEM, BET, UV–vis DRS, and PL analysis were confirmed the formation of composites by simple method. The application of as-prepared composites was explored for the Rhodamine B removal, and the effective parameters were studied including pH, composites doses, Rhodamine B concentrations, and time under UV condition. The findings revealed the efficiency of bauxite and Red Mud/graphitic carbon nitride as photocatalysts for the degradation of Rhodamine B from aqueous solution compared to pure graphitic carbon nitride. The use of bauxite and Red Mud as natural materials can be improved the graphitic carbon nitride properties for water purification.
