Abstract

Ca-doped nanofibers were prepared by the sol–gel electrospinning method and characterized by XRD and SEM. The results show that the TiO2 nanofibers are mainly anatase and contain a small amount of rutile. The photocatalytic effect of these samples was evaluated through the degradation rate of Rhodamine B under UV light. It turns out that 5 wt% Ca-doped TiO2 has the best photocatalytic activity and its degradation rate is 95% after 100 min of reaction time. This shows that calcium doping can improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO2.
