Abstract
[Formula: see text] nanocrystals were synthesized by a hydrothermal method, and their photocatalytic performance was investigated by degradation of methylene blue (MB) under UV-light irradiation. About 82% MB was photodegraded after 30 min irradiation, which indicated that the [Formula: see text] nanocrystals had good photocatalytic performance due to the distorted [Formula: see text] octahedra in the monoclinic [Formula: see text] crystal structure and nano-size [Formula: see text] particles. It indicated that the [Formula: see text] nanocrystals were promising candidates as UV-light photocatalysts.
