Abstract

A needle-like anatase TiO 2 has been prepared through a topological reaction from one-dimensional titanium glycolate precursor Ti(OCH 2CH 2O) 2. The new needle-like titanium glycolate precursor Ti(OCH 2CH 2O) 2 was crystallized by solvothermal technique. Upon calcination at appropriate temperatures, the titanium glycolate precursor lost it organic part and topologically changed to anatase TiO 2, which mainly kept the original shape of the precursor. The as-prepared anatase TiO 2 with large specific surface area exhibited high photocatalysis activity.
