Abstract

The exchange interaction between impurity spins is calculated in a non-degenerate semiconductor in which the carriers interact coherently with a strong resonant light wave. The exponential spatial decrease of the exchange with decrement ξ 0 (ξ 0 is the coherent length) is shown to be modulated by oscillations whose period is proportional to the energy mismatch ◑ω - E g. Conditions for the existence of photo-induced spin-glass are established. Estimates of the required spin concentrations are given for CdTe(Mn).
